Four meetings down, how many to go?

January 19, 2017 Woolies BLDC

Your SDA team is already four meetings into the negotiations for a new BLDC agreement.  Things are moving along smoothly but there is still a long way to go.

There has been some broad agreement this week on clauses that deal with TOIL for a worked Public Holiday (at the employees’ election), being able to take Long Service Leave at half pay and a new form of Domestic Violence Leave.

Mind you, nothing is completely agreed to until we see a final package.  And of course the final decision will always be up to the workers.  These are your rates and your rights, so ultimately it’s your decision.

And to get the best package possible we need YOUR HELP!  Gavin and Bevan are our negotiating team from the DC floor and they need your feedback.  We need to know from everyone which parts of the Company’s Log of Claims members are willing to consider and which ones are just not on.  When you get a chance, please let Gavin and Bevan know, or see Matt and Michael, your SDA Organisers.

Together, let’s get the best deal on the table to benefit everyone.
