Every individual Enterprise Agreement has its own Public Holiday clause. Included in this clause will be commentary on members’ rights in regard to the voluntary nature of public holiday work or otherwise and their entitlements whether they work or not.
Because public holiday entitlements are confusing, members receive a company specific bulletin which explains their rights.
These bulletins are posted twice each year to the member’s home address. The first bulletin features the public holidays over the Easter period, Labour Day and the Queen’s Birthday and the second bulletin features the Christmas/New Year period and the Australia Day public holidays.
These bulletins highlight the rights of full time, part time and casual members and are a valuable reference for all members.
If you are still unsure about your holiday rights, simply contact the Shop Steward or Delegate in your workplace or call the SDA Office.
