As democratic organisations, The Shop, Distributive & Allied Employees Association (Queensland Branch) Union of Employees (the union) operate with the highest degree of transparency and accountability. Information below relates to the union and should be read in conjunction with the relevant sections of the Industrial Relations Act 1999 (Qld) as amended.

Register of gifts, hospitality and other benefits given by or received by officers of the Union (section 557A).

No officer has received any gifts or hospitalities nor has the Union granted any gifts or hospitalities.

No spending to show

Register of credit card and cab charge account spending (section 557C).

The union does not issue Credit Cards, Fleet Cards, Cab Charge Account or Cab Charge Cards to any official or employee for any purpose.

The remuneration and benefits for the ten highest paid officers of the union (as defined in section 557Q of the Act).

The union registered pursuant to the Industrial Relations Act 1999 as defined at section 409 does not pay any salary or wages, nor does it direct, elect or otherwise authorise any officer or member of the Committee of Management to serve or represent the union on any board, council or post for which a benefit, financial or non-financial, is received or paid.

Register of material personal interest (section 530A).

Details of the Material Personal Interests held by the members of the union’s State Council are not matters for public record but are held in the register at the union’s office where a ‘legally entitled’ person may inspect the register (by appointment) at the union’s office during business hours.

Over the recent Financial Year 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016, the union has not operated an accounts system, requiring balance sheets nor are there any debtors or creditors.  As such the Association’s accountants are not required to provide an audit report.
