Got a problem at work? The SDA can help

October 21, 2012 Member News

Are you having problems at work but you’re not sure what to do?

If this is you, there is no need to worry. Employees of all ages and experience levels have some troubles at work from time to time. Problems occur in most (if not all) workplaces.

The good news is that the SDA is your voice at work, and we are here to help.

There is a long established formula which has been agreed between the SDA and your employer where union members can raise their concerns, discuss it and reach a final outcome.

This formula is called a ‘Grievance Procedure’ or a ‘Disputes Notification Procedure’, and forms an integral part of all SDA Enterprise Agreements, as well as featuring in the Retail and Fast Food Modern Awards.

At every step of the Grievance Procedure, you are never alone. The SDA – through our trained Shop Stewards, Delegates and Officials – will always provide you with information, assistance and support every step of the way.

If you are experiencing a problem at work and would like to talk more with someone from the SDA, see our detailed section on what to do if you’re having problems at work.

If you’re not currently a member, read more about why join the SDA.
