The Fair Work Commission is currently reviewing the General Retail Industry Award 2010 as part of the Modern Award Review.

The SDA is seeking improvements to public holiday entitlements in the Award, such as the employee having the choice whether or not to work on a public holiday (i.e. voluntary work) and a day off in lieu equivalent to the public holiday penalty.
